Jens Risom's career has spanned nearly sixty years. He began his design studies in the Copenhagen workshop of Kaare Klint in 1935 and three years later he joined Ernst Kuhn's architectural office where he dedicated himself to interiors and furniture projects. After his emigration to the USA he designed the first chair manufactured by Knoll in 1941.
