"Natural light comes from the sky. Since electric light is artificial, it should come from the floor." Castiglioni therefore designed a luminous stone, a lamp that can be kicked around and even kept outdoors. Noce, meaning 'walnut', is made of a two-part shell, in cast metal and safety glass, which contains two swiveling bulbs. Castiglioni’s floor light can also be used as a table and wall light or even outdoor due to its very robust and watertight shell and sturdy pressed-glass diffuser. The internal mounting plate can be adjusted manually to cast light in different directions.
Segnalazione Compasso d’Oro 1979.
